2006 started off just fine. i completed my 1 year foundation and entered degree. went through briefing on degree programme. we were warned on Advance Calculus for being top tough subject throughout the degree by our head of department. Fine, we've passed! haha



this is the year when i first participated in west malaysia badminton tournament. haha. so excited. MMU Master 2006 organized by Multimedia University (MMU), melaka campus. i was having my holiday in kuching that time when receiving the offer to participate with UNIMAS friends including Yew Zion but i played for UNITEN. haha. so i left kuching before holiday finished together with UNIMAS friends to board plane to JB and took bus to melaka. my first time to melaka wey! MMU committee members were very friendly, they welcome us bringing us around the city. we tried satay celup, observe the Red House? Red Building? then the ship then mahkhota parade. but i failed to meet kenny. haha. that's not important, the most important is i was knocked out in first round open category single. ShhHHHHHH. ooops, i cant show any pic, i dont know where the heck all the pictures are.



ok. my very first assignment of my degree programme. guess what? handphone drawing! haha. it's Engineering Graphics subject. it was a piece of shit! haha. so bad in drawing. free-hand ma. that's the minor part, the major part is about learning of AutoCad drawing which i enjoyed the most. another subject Materials, taught by Dr Shahida, pakistani or bangladesh? not so sure but we often laughed in the class just because of her pronunciation, every word like 'what the fcuk?' haha. well she's good because easy to score. haha.



it was 2006 that we moved to another hostel from Amanah to Cendekiawan. moving our stuff like donkey or camel? dragging boxes by boxes, alot of stuff. we stayed at 10th floor, the highest, the toppest of the building. haha. only 3 of us staying at 10th floor. quite creepy though. haha but i like it. why? because it's cold at night. once a while experience tornado.



the most critical thing in 2006 was celebrating new year in kuching specialist hospital. haha. i was sent back to kuching on 30th Dec 2006 after picking up serious ankle injury during training preparing for masum inter-uni. admitted on 31th for MRI and X-ray scanning so i spent the night lying on the bed celebrating. thanks to my family and cousins. haha. my first wish was to have smooth and successful operation the next day on the very first day of 2007. haha

* something there. from my understanding, total 5 ligaments, 3 ligaments putus, 1 almost putus, 1 partially torn. a biodegradable screw was planted somewhere there. more info, ask the doctor again.

that's why i appreciate my health and take good care of myself well. it's a blessing that i can welcome every new year healthily. i dont want the history to repeat, let it be a memory and lesson in life.

that's basically 2006. some events i might miss out, minor events perhaps. haha

the journey from KLIA to uniten, is very kan chiong. im stepping into uni and gonna live on my own independently.

i enjoyed foundation year in 2005 extremely much. my roomate sheng loong, housemate are chia hui and max wong from sibu. very homesick, leaving home unwillingly. i brought all my CDs to keep me accompanied, with all the songs i collected during secondary school.

the first night was 'lonely', not the kind of loneliness because no one is around. it's the kind of loneliness when family is not around. haha. i used to sleep with my brother but now turn and see, it's sheng loong. so weird right! fine. first few nights i sleep with earphone on ears, playing songs till the next morning. at least it made me feel at home in kuching. hmmm.

one month later, i was 'introduced' to uniten badminton arena. thanks to lucas bringing me to MPH for badminton. later i knew new friend, Jason from kuching as well. i wondered. he knew me but i did not. so i asked him 'how you know me?'. he said 'Are you same geng with Joseph Kho, the Global Sport taukeh at kenyalang?'. i said 'im not same geng with him but i know him, i geng with his student Yew Zion'. it's something cool that people whom i dont know, knows my background. haha. 3 months later i was brought into Uniten Badmiton Club after beating the seniors to enter final of Dean's Trophy (piala Dekan).

* can you see the rubber court in the pic? it cost 15k per piece. we got 3 pieces but the uni is too kiam siap, keeping in the store till today. this pic is the last time that we used the rubber courts.

academically was good in 2005. still keeping the spirit of kamikaze (sacrifice for books). table still full of books. even a small cup got no place on my table. never missed classes. never missed a words from lecturers. met up lecturers for discussion. worry about quizzes, tests and exams. finished assignments early. did tutorials. flip books for solution. called friends for help.

can you survive rm3 for a day? yes i could. i survived that. my lunch at foodcourt cost only rm1.50 because i took a vege and a piece of fried egg with rice only. that's all. RM1.50, my lunch! i did not want to take meat because one piece of meat like drumstick cost rm1.50 and it's expensive. and my dinner cost rm1.50 too! it's nasi lemak. yeah. i kept that for weeks. the best low-cost student at uni i guess, unluckily it was taken over by airasa a year after that.

it was my cooking year. we used to cook with rice cooker. whatever we can cook, we cook because we dont have stove. food, soup, i forgot what we cooked but i remember one thing. No one wanna eat my porridge, fine!

the first Christmas countdown at sg wang was so heboh. 15 of us booked a room in the middle of the city. that was 24 Dec 2005. the very eve of 25 Dec 2005. i learnt to spray people with innocent look. i learnt to laugh at people being sprayed. i learn to shout from 5 to 1. i learnt the mamak life after 12am. and i made myself a stupid promise to come again the following year.

it was 2005 year that i went on relationship. u asked me where is Asia Cafe, i can tell you clean and clear. you ask me how to go to Subang Jaya, i can tell you. you ask me how much taxi fare Subang Jaya-UNITEN, i can tell you. you ask me where Pangsapuri Subang, i can direct you. what else you wanna know? that's when i saw Taylor's College with my bare eyes. wow. the place is so happening and i asked myself, 'why im not here but uniten?'

i started to fall in love with KLIA. i took KLIA Transit to KLIA couple times from putrajaya to meet my mum. the train is just smooth and fast. most important it's quiet because very few people in the train. i stayed overnight at KLIA for the next morning early flight home. Eden restaurant is my favourite place to go Wi-Fi because it's next to McD and near to International Departure gate. seeing people hugging in tears leaving each other, 'this person must be going very far' i said to myself.

that's why i enjoyed my foundation year in 2005. if i were given the chance to go back to 2005, i will choose to.

Phiten necklace so nice

lai lai lai.

this is Phiten necklace. it is also known as Rakuwa. i was introduced to this necklace back in January this year when i went to Malaysia Open at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil.

this necklace has magical power!

what attracted me to the booth of Phiten was Koo Kean Keat big poster. so i wondered, Koo Kean Keat is the ambassador for Phiten and what's Phiten. alright, i approached the booth.

"Lai lai lai, try to lift this 5L water vertically with one hand." offered the sales person.

"Wah, heavy wor. 5L is so heavy." i said to him when i did not even try it. haha

"You try it with bare hand then i will wear Phiten necklace on your hand, you will feel the difference." said the sales person again.

then i lifted the water. aiyo so light nia! then he wore the Phiten necklace round my hand, "Wah really got difference!"

"How come can lift the water so easily?" i asked.

then he explained the scientific story behind it which i did not even bother to know. after that, introduced types of necklace they sold, each cost more than hundred bucks.
