Rotating System in the Club

Ok seems im waiting for my hair to dry. let me just post a short one.

My friend, Joy just chatted with me for a while. she shared with me her experience of playing badminton with a group or club as according to her, and with rotating system i suppose.

this reminds me the club i was playing back in Kuching.

why do we have rotating system in a club? to have a fair and equal chance of playing among the club members.

but is that really fair and square?

when we have a group of players with different standards. i would say it's a no? but according to Joy, they have a group of players with same standards? I dont know, if that the case, it would be good.

why did I say it's a no when coming to have players with different standards. Our club in Kuching, the Kenyalang Club led by a senior whom we call him, Mr Goh.

One evening back in May last year, he called me up for a short meeting to discuss on this rotating system to be applied in his club because he wanted me to assist him in running this system. he got this system from Canada when he pursued his study there. this is how it goes....

His main objective is to make the club organized and systematic.

All the players are categorized into 5 different groups namely G1, G2, G3, G4 and VIP.

G1 are those pros and state players. G2 are above average players. G3 are average players. G4 are beginners/amateur. VIP are special guest upon invited, usually are pros and sometimes it can be family members or girlfriends boyfriends with special treatment. haha

Rules
1. G1 have the right to pick players from any group. (of course everyone wants to play with G1 because they are pros)

2. G2 can play with G1 if only G1 agree. G2 can pick G3 and G4. (of course G3 and G4 want to play with G2 because G2 are better than them)

3. G3 can play with G2 if only G2 agree. G3 can play with G4. G3 cant play with G1 unless their standards are 'recognised'.

4. G4 can only play with G3 or other groups upon invited only.

5. VIPs can play with any group without restrictions.

6. Players in each group play based on first come first serve basis. Who comes first will enter the court first. late comers have to wait for sure.

why are there restrictions among the groups? this is to maintain the playing pleasure among the players because when there is big gap of standard, the pleasure is not there.

the question is. when you request to play in a group and get rejected? or you never receive invitation to play in that group? you'll be bench warmer. this is the problem arises among some of the club members. unless you're girl, obviously people will give way. that's why, i dont see any problem for Joy to play in the club. LOL~

relationship among club members is very important. maintain good relationship and be friendlly. and make sure you're not the King of the Court.

who's King of the Court? they are those who keep playing and never give way to other people to play, the night belongs to theirs. this is when the leader will take charge. Kan nia! Haha

I like the mentality of the club members of dare to take the challenge. they dare to challenge.

ok. this is what i wanted to share. hope it's understandable. actually i can show how the rotating system runs visually but i need to draw it out which i lazy! haha.
